The North Sea Coastline

Shaping my ceramics and my sense of home.

Based near St Andrews, Hame Ceramics is a small studio practice shaped by a return to the North Sea coast. After years in San Francisco, coming home has brought a welcome sense of lightness and calm to my ceramics.

I work in porcelain, a material valued for its smooth texture and durability. Colour is introduced directly into the clay and slip, becoming part of the material itself and preserving porcelain’s refined surface.

Influenced by the nearby coastline, I prefer soft blue-grey tones drawn from the sea, sky and coastal light.
